Day 15- Helsingborg

Today was a chilled out (but extremely windy) day! Maria and I rode bikes from their house to downtown Helsingborg, about a ten-minute ride. In the city park, we saw they had put up these awesome swinging chairs on all the trees for the summertime! Unfortunately, most of them had been bent out of shape so that you couldn't sit in them without sliding right off. Maria found it helpful to stand on them instead:

Then we locked up the bikes and walked around Helsingborg!

What the hell? They even spell my name wrong in Sweden!

In addition to my second-hand clothing store, Maria has a hotel:

And some tapas as well:

Oh, and this is Maria's church:

Then we met Peter on his lunchbreak and enjoyed the view from the harbor. The land you can see just across the water there is Denmark! The city of Helsingør hosts the castle where Hamlet takes place. We were going to get around to seeing it, but there's too much stupid stuff to do, there's no time for culture!

All the Scandinavian flags together:

Then we ran into Kalle, a friend of Maria's, and went to Ebba's Fika, a 50's-style diner that serves a delicious assortment of vegan treats in addition to burgers and fries. We loaded up and pigged out! Maria got that gigantic nut cookie, and you can see my balls (yeah, I got two balls) on the left- the one covered in pink sprinkles is a 'sputnik,' a mint-chocolate flavor. The yellow sprinkles are on the 'king kong bulla,' which is banana flavored. Yum! the last plate has a cute little rum-chocolate cake decorated with marzipan to look like an electrolux vacuum cleaner, and yet another chocolate ball- this one also rum flavored.  Holy smokes, it was good!
